Ganze neun Jahre liegt sein letzter Sieg zur\u00fcck, zuletzt siegte er 2009 in Budapest. Die ganze Woche \u00fcber flog er bereits konstant, wusste aber, dass es einen k\u00fchlen Kopf und Nerven aus Stahl bedarf, um es ganz oben auf das Podium zu schaffen. Aber Goulian meisterte es in gekonnter Manier.<br \/>\nDer US-Amerikaner musste als Erster im Final 4 fliegen und legte in 53,695 Sekunden eine brillante Zeit vor, die die anderen Piloten erst einmal schlagen mussten. Es folgte eine qualvolle Zeit des Wartens, in der er mit ansehen musste, was die anderen Piloten machten.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.redbullcontentpool.com\/embed\/video\/5a76c68f0b101d0476b9a8f8?_=1517733520686\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\nMartin Sonka musste als Zweiter durch das Start-Gate und flog ebenfalls sauber und fehlerfrei. Er kam jedoch nicht dicht genug an Goulian heran, seine Zeit von 54,650 Sekunden war fast eine Sekunde langsamer, reichte aber am Ende noch f\u00fcr den dritten Platz aus.<\/p>\n<p>Goulians Landsmann Kirby Chambliss flog als Dritter, doch aufgrund eines zu sp\u00e4ten Steilflugs lag er bereits bei der ersten Zwischenzeit im Hintertreffen. Diese Zeit konnte er auch nicht mehr gutmachen und wurde insgesamt Vierter.<\/p>\n<p>Das Warten auf seinen Sieg wurde f\u00fcr Goulian noch intensiver, weil der amtierende Weltmeister erst als Letzter an der Reihe war. Yoshihide Muroya musste auf dem Weg zu Gate 4 eine Korrektur machen, die ihn zwar nicht allzu sehr ausbremste, aber so viel Zeit kostete, dass er an Goulians Zeit nicht mehr herankam und Zweiter wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Goulian steht nach seinem Triumph in Abu Dhabi zum ersten Mal in seiner Karriere an der Spitze des WM-Gesamtklassements.
