Das Letzte in S\u00fcdamerika gewann der aktuelle Weltmeister Paul Bonhomme. Der Titelverteidiger wird auch das Feld der 15 weltbesten Rennpiloten anf\u00fchren, die am 8.\/9. Der Rookie aus Curitiba \u201emarschierte\u201c durch das harte Qualifikationscamp. Er ist der erste s\u00fcdamerikanische Pilot, der an der spektakul\u00e4ren Hochgeschwindigkeites-Flugserie teilnimmt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDie Stimmung beim Rennen in Rio 2007 war umwerfend\u201c<\/p>\n<p>\u201eRio ist ein herausragender Ort und wir freuen uns auf ein gro\u00dfartiges Rennen dort\u201c, sagt Red Bull Air Race-Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer Bernd Loidl. \u201eDie eine Million Menschen, die das Rennen 2007 verfolgt haben, bedeuteten die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Zuschauermenge in der Renngeschichte und auch in Brasiliens Sportgeschichte. Diese Zahlen sprechen f\u00fcr sich selbst. Die Brasilianer stellen ohnehin schon ein begeisterungsf\u00e4higes Publikum und ich bin sicher, dass sie angesichts \u201eihres\u201c brasilianischen Piloten Adilson Kindelmann noch eine Runde enthusiastischer reagieren werden.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Das Rennen wird erneut oberhalb der malerischen Botafogo Bucht in der N\u00e4he der gigantischen Jesus-Statue auf dem Corcovado (Zuckerhut) stattfinden. Die Statue, weltweit bekannt als \u201eCristo Redentor\u201c (Christus der Erl\u00f6ser), geh\u00f6rt neben dem Blick \u00fcber die hotelges\u00e4umten Str\u00e4nde zu den spektakul\u00e4rsten Panoramen Brasiliens.<\/p>\n<p>Beim Rennen 2007 hatte Paul Bonhomme den Spanier Alejandro Maclean in einem packenden Fight besiegt und damit zum ersten Mal in seiner Karriere die Spitze in der Gesamtwertung \u00fcbernommen. F\u00fcr den Briten war der zweite seiner insgesamt elf Siege ein ganz spezieller Augenblick \u2013 n\u00e4mlich der Auftakt zu drei Siegen in der Saison 2007. Und auch f\u00fcr Maclean war der zweite Platz von Rio 2007 die bisher beste Platzierung seiner Karriere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eZur\u00fcck nach Rio \u2013 das ist fantastisch\u201d, freut sich Bonhomme. \u201eZur\u00fcck zu den Str\u00e4nden und dem Sonnenschein Brasiliens mit seinem unglaublich emotionalen Publikum. Hoffentlich werden wir dieses Jahr genauso viel Spass dort haben, wie 2007.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Auch f\u00fcr Hannes Arch hatte Rio 2007 eine spezielle Bedeutung. Er war damals noch Rookie, zeigte aber mit einem vierten Platz im zweiten Saisonrennen sein gro\u00dfes Potenzial. Und er best\u00e4tigte das ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter mit dem Titelgewinn. Damals war Kindlemann, nationaler Kunstflugmeister zwischen 2001 bis 2004, nur eines von Millionen Gesichtern in der Zuschauermenge, die das erste histrische Rennen in Rio verfolgten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDie Stimmung beim Rennen in Rio 2007 war umwerfend\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Kindlemann, der w\u00e4hrend des Rennens schon damals den Entschluss fasste, eines Tages selbst einen der begehrten Startpl\u00e4tze zu erhalten. \u201eIch bin so gl\u00fccklich, dass ich mein Ziel erreicht habe. Ich wei\u00df, dass es der Traum von Millionen Brasilianern ist, einen Landsmann starten zu sehen. Brasilianer haben halt \u201aBenzin im Blut\u2019 und eine nat\u00fcrliche Leidenschaft f\u00fcr Schnelligkeit\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Kindlemann die gro\u00dfe Popularit\u00e4t der Formel 1 und des Red Bull Air Race in seinem Heimatland und rechnet damit, dass die \u201eErwartungen an mich ganz sch\u00f6n hoch sein werden\u201c.<br \/>\nSieben der insgesamt 15 Top-Piloten dieses Jahres sind schon einmal in Rio an den Start gegangen.
