Schnupperskispringen VfL Pfullingen 12.10.2014

Du wolltest schon immer einmal von der Erde abheben und fliegen wie ein Vogel? Dann ist der Schnuppertag der VfL Young Eagles genau das richtige!

Am 12. Oktober wird unter professioneller Begleitung der Skisprungtrainer des VfL Pfullingen ein Training für Kinder angeboten, die sich für den Sport Skispringen interessieren und erste Versuche an unserer Schanzenanlage wagen wollen.

Was ist geplant?:

Begrüßung und Einführung in die Skisprungtechnik (Anfahrt, Flughaltung und Landung)
Aufwärmprogramm und erste Trockenübungen
Abfahrt auf dem Schanzen Auslauf (ab Hälfte/ von der kleinen Schanze/ von der großen Schanze)
Erste Sprungversuche von der kleinen Schanze (von der Hälfte des Anlaufs/ von Oben)
Gemeinsames Grillen und Zuschauen beim Sprung eines Nachwuchsspringers auf der großen Schanze

Wichtig ist!:

Niemand wird dazu gezwungen einen Sprung auf der kleinen Schanze zu wagen. Es gibt für jedes Kind die Möglichkeit langsam den Schwierigkeitsgrad zu steigern, um Mut und Können aufzubauen.

Mitzubringen ist:

Komplette Ski
Alpin Ausrüstung (Ski,Schuhe, Helm, Brille)
Kleidung, die den ganzen Körper bedeckt (zB.: Trainingsanzug)
Handschuhe

Arch gegen Bonhomme: altes Duell bei Air Race

Nach dreijähriger Pause kehrte die Red Bull Air Race World Championship mit einem alten Duell der Weltmeister zurück. Im Weltmeisterduell von Abu Dhabi gewann der Brite Paul Bonhomme vor dem Österreicher Hannes Arch.

ABU DHABI (VAE) – Beim Saisonauftakt der Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2014 in Abu Dhabi setzte sich am Samstag der Brite Paul Bonhomme in einem spannenden Finale gegen seinen langjährigen Rivalen Hannes Arch aus Österreich (Platz 2) und den Kanadier Pete McLeod (Platz 3) durch.

In der vorletzten Runde des spektakulären High-Speed-Rennens knapp über dem türkisblauen Wasser am Arabischen Golf war der amtierende Weltmeister Bonhomme noch hinter Arch und McLeod gelegen. Bei der letzten Runde legte der Brite aber einen Traumlauf hin und schaffte mit 56,439 Sekunden die Tagesbestzeit. Zuvor war Bonhomme um ganze zwei Sekunden langsamer gewesen. Arch landete mit 56,776 Sekunden knapp hinter seinem Erzrivalen auf Rang zwei. „ Ich habe im Flugzeug Pauls Zeit mitbekommen, da wusste ich, dass die nur schwer zu knacken sein würde“, so der Österreicher.

„Ich habe ein ganz neues Team, für mich war Abu Dhabi deshalb eine Standortbestimmung“, meinte Weltmeister Arch, „jetzt wissen wir, dass wir auch unter den neuen Vorzeichen vorne dabei sind“. Die Einschätzung der beiden Spitzenpiloten, dass durch die Einführung von Einheitsmotoren die Leistungsdichte an der Spitze des zwölf Mann umfassenden Feldes zunehmen würde, haben sich bewahrheitet: Beim Qualifying am Freitag trennte weniger als eine Sekunde McLeod, den Australier Matt Hall, den Briten Nigel Lamb und den Tschechen Martin Sonka voneinander.

Für Deutschlands Ass Mathias Dolderer verlief der Auftakt mit Rang sechs durchwachsen: „Mein Fliegen war okay, das Flugzeug gut und ich bin froh, dass ich es in Final 8 geschafft habe. Aber ich weiß, da ist noch viel Luft nach oben“.

McLeod on Cloud 9 with Qualifying win in Abu Dhabi

Canada’s Pete McLeod won a thrilling Qualifying session in Abu Dhabi on Friday ahead of the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Championship season opener as the world’s fastest motorsport series returns to the skies after a three-year break.

ABU DHABI (UAE)– The opening round of what promises to be the most exciting Red Bull Air Race World Championship ever lived up to its billing in Qualifying on Friday when Pete McLeod of Canada edged out defending champion Paul Bonhomme of Britain by just fractions of a second to win pole position for Saturday’s season opener in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Britain’s Nigel Lamb was third while Austria’s Hannes Arch was fourth on the challenging track set up over the Arabian Gulf in front of Abu Dhabi’s glistening skyline.
McLeod, the youngest pilot in the sport’s history at 30, laid down a blistering time of 57.932 compared to 58.129 for Bonhomme after the Canadian ace adjusted for a dramatic shift in winds from the south in the morning to the north in the afternoon that made the course especially difficult for many of the 11 pilots who followed. Five pilots flying after McLeod clipped the tops of the 25-meter pylons, sending the tips of the pressurized Air Gates bursting up into the sky as crowds of excited spectators watched the high-speed, low-altitude racing action along Abi Dhabi’s Corniche Road and from the sandy beaches.

“It’s exciting to get first today,” said McLeod. “I felt really good in the track and was really focused. Paul was right there behind me and there were a bunch of other guys close behind too. Some of the other guys after me might have had some misfortune with the wind changing or first race qualifying round jitters.”
It was a nail-biting afternoon for Arch, who hit a pylon in his first Qualifying run and flew more conservatively in his second run, as well as for Bonhomme. Gone are the days when the two seasoned aces – who have won the last three championships – were well ahead of the pack, because the field has grown more competitive with all 12 pilots flying standardized engines and many of the younger pilots have worked hard to catch up.
Many of the pilots initially thought the course was going to be easy compared to the six previous races in Abu Dhabi, which has hosted the season-opener since 2005. But the capricious winds in Abu Dhabi on Friday and strict regulations this season made it a challenge to fly fast and clean through the track. Saturday’s race action starts at 1 p.m.  In other airborne action on Friday, François Le Vot of France, Daniel Ryfa of Sweden and Juan Velarde of Spain finished in first, second and third place respectively in the Challenger Cup, an exciting new element of the Red Bull Air Race that’s growing the sport by giving promising pilots the chance to develop their skills.

Challenger Cup welcomes a new generation

An exciting new feature of the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Championship will be the debut of the new Challenger Cup that will give a new generation of talented pilots from around the world a chance to experience the thrills of the sport in a slightly less pressure-packed environment, while giving fans a new competition and new crop of pilots to cheer for.

The eight outstanding new pilots from seven different nations will be racing for Challenger Cup points and the even more valuable Red Bull Air Race track experience on Qualifying Days of the World Championship. The twin aims of the Challenger Cup are to give promising young pilots the chance to develop their low-altitude flying skills under racing conditions and thus further enhance the overall safety of the world’s fastest motorsport series.

The Challenger Cup pilots are Tom Bennett of Great Britain, Mikael Brageot of France, Petr Kopfstein of the Czech Republic, Francois Le Vot of France, Peter Pondlusek of Slovenia, Daniel Ryfa of Sweden, Claudius Spiegel of Germany and Juan Velarde of Spain.

„I’m very excited to be part of the next generation of the Red Bull Air Race,“ said Brageot, who has been getting tips from his Breitling teammate Nigel Lamb. „I’ve been following the guys and the racing for years, and to now be a part of it is a dream for me. My goal is to gain as much experience as possible during the Challenger Cup races to hopefully step up to compete in the Master Class before too long.“

Lamb, a seasoned Red Bull Air Race pilot, said he was pleased to have the chance to tutor Brageot and admitted it was a learning experience for him as well. „For a newcomer, to enter the World Championship now is a huge step, so it is important to have a lot of support. The Red Bull Air Race is totally different to anything you’ve ever done before so the biggest learning curve will be the things you experience and learn in the track over a long period of time.

The eight pilots will be working towards acquiring the „Unrestricted Super Licence“ that is needed to be able to eventually fly one day in the master class of the Red Bull Air Race. The newcomers would first have to obtain a „Restricted Super Licence“ in a qualification camp before taking part in the Challenger Cup, which is the final stepping stone before one day winning promotion to the Red Bull Air Race. The pilots will be a single plane class cup with the Red Bull Air Race providing the aircraft – Extra E-330LX.

The Red Bull Air Race tracks will generally be the same for the Challenger Cup as in the race itself, but it is possible that on especially difficult tracks the course could be made less challenging by deflating a few of the pylons, according to Sergio Pla, head of aviation at Red Bull Air Race. The pilots will fly a minimum of three of the races in 2014. The Challenger Cup annual evaluation will be based on the aggregate three best races final points scored in the individual races. The top six pilots with the highest total scores will be invited to the final race of the season.
